Outstanding performance and innovative design. European Yacht of the Year 2016 in the family cruiser category.

It’s stylish and there’s something sexy about it. Does that sound strange? At first glance, perhaps yes.

Yet these were the main considerations during the design of the Hanse 315. Excellent equipment, outstanding performance and a confident appearance, as you would expect from Hanse. So that no questions remain unanswered.

It meets the expectations of every prospective owner, regardless of whether the goal is sporty sailing, a relaxing vacation, or peaceful family time together. Unique features such as a deep keel, short overhangs, and a deep center of gravity give the 315 an elegant appearance, while its sailing performance leaves nothing to be desired. The wide belly creates a sporty, elegant effect, while the straight lines of the bodywork emphasize its dynamism. The well-balanced sail area ensures stable sailing and maximum safety.

It comes with a rod steering wheel as standard, but we can supply a two-wheel steering version on request. The L-shaped keel, which extends to a depth of 1.85 meters, does its job reliably, so it’s no wonder that the Hanse 315 was the first in its size category to receive an A rating on the CE certification scale, meaning it is ocean-going. If you prefer shallow water to the sea, you can choose the 1.37-meter kilt.

The term “efficient use of space” becomes tangible on board. The anchor locker is quite spacious: suffice it to say that it can accommodate not only the anchor and chain, but also the optional electric anchor winch. Stepping back a little from the bow, we “stumble upon” the self-tacking jib track that has become the hallmark of Hanse. Clear proof that the factory doesn’t just talk about “ease of use.” The mainsail furling system also moves on rails, so the mainsail can be adjusted more easily than on boats without this feature. Although the stern is open, the cockpit can be considered protected, if only because the fold-down bathing platform closes off the space. When it’s not in use, it serves well as a playground for children or a sun terrace. If you opt for the dual steering wheel solution, you will be rewarded with a cockpit table with fold-down leaves – a restaurant on your own boat!

Inside, the space is bright and spacious. The scratch-free glass panels and plastic windows carved into the side of the boat let in plenty of light and air. The storage compartments around the kitchen, in the lounge, and in the cabin(s) are similarly spacious, and the room specifically designed for packing is downright gigantic. Four people can sit comfortably inside, especially since the headroom is 1.91 meters in the passenger compartment and 1.77 meters in the front. The manufacturer achieved this by lowering the floor level so that the elegant lines of the exterior could be retained.

Prospective owners can choose between two types of nose cabin: they can request a version that opens onto the salon, in which case a large double bed is placed at the front, or they can opt for a closed cabin, which is equipped with a small chair and a convertible double bed. Nothing restricted the size of the double bed in the rear cabin, as it was positioned transversely under the cockpit. All beds are longer than two meters, so even our tallest crew members have no reason to complain.
